چکیده
Abstract Ganoderma boninense , a causal agent of basal stem rot, as one the major problems in oil palm plantation Indonesia. The potential dark septate endophytes (DSE) biocontrol agents for G. is not widely studied. Therefore, this study aims to screen DSE strains obtain high antagonistic strains. capacity 10 was determined based on growth inhibition dual culture, and volatile compounds challenge against boninense, vitro . Volatile compound profiling selected that showed highest done using Pyrolysis Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. Among tested, TKC 2.2a had percentage cultures challenge. This strain inhibited better if grown media seven days earlier than simultaneously with boninsense 14 old were 2H-1-Benzopyran-7-ol, 3,4-dihydro-5-methoxy-6-methyl-2-phenyl; 4-Allyl-2,6-dimetho-xyphenol; hexa-decanoic acid, which reported having either antimicrobial or antifungal activities. These results indicate can be candidate palm, depending further research its ability reduce rot symptoms.

The Phenylpropanoid Pathway and Lignin in Defense against Ganoderma boninense Colonized Root Tissues in Oil Palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)
Basal stem rot, caused by the basidiomycete fungus, Ganoderma boninense, is an economically devastating disease in Malaysia. Our study investigated the changes in lignin content and composition along with activity and expression of the phenylpropanoid pathway enzymes and genes in oil palm root tissues during G. boninense infection. We sampled control (non-inoculated) and infected (inoculated) s...
متن کاملmRNA Expression of EgCHI1, EgCHI2, and EgCHI3 in Oil Palm Leaves (Elaeis guineesis Jacq.) after Treatment with Ganoderma boninense Pat. and Trichoderma harzianum Rifai
BACKGROUND Basal stem rot (BSR) disease caused by the fungus Ganoderma boninense is the most serious disease affecting the oil palm; this is because the disease escapes the early disease detection. The biocontrol agent Trichoderma harzianum can protect the disease only at the early stage of the disease. In the present study, the expression levels of three oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) chit...
متن کاملThe Response of Dark Septate Endophytes (DSE) to Heavy Metals in Pure Culture
Dark septate endophytes (DSE) occur widely in association with plants exposed to heavy metal stress. However, little is known about the response of DSE exposed to heavy metals. In this study, five DSE were isolated from the roots of Astragalus adsurgens Pall. seedlings growing on lead-zinc mine tailings in China. Based on morphological characteristics and DNA sequence analyses, the isolates wer...
متن کاملResponse surface optimization of ultrasonic‐assisted extraction of carotenoids from oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) fronds
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) fronds (OPF) are the most abundant oil palm solid wastes that are generated during oil palm agriculture and harvest. Palm oil and some other palm wastes have been reported to contain high concentrations of carotenoids with vital bioactive properties. However, the extraction and quantification of carotenoids from OPF have not been reported. In this study, ultra...
متن کاملMycorrhiza Reduces Adverse Effects of Dark Septate Endophytes (DSE) on Growth of Conifers
Mycorrhizal roots are frequently colonized by fungi of the Phialocephala fortinii s.l.-Acephala applanata species complex (PAC). These ascomycetes are common and widespread colonizers of tree roots. Some PAC strains reduce growth increments of their hosts but are beneficial in protecting roots against pathogens. Nothing is known about the effects of PAC on mycorrhizal fungi and the PAC-mycorrhi...
